IT Security Architect

Summary

We are searching for a skilled IT Security Architect with expertise in cloud security and hybrid environments. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and managing security strategies across cloud and on-prem infrastructures, including COLO data centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security, disaster recovery, and compliance in a healthcare environment. You’ll work closely with IT Engineers to ensure security measures are properly implemented and continuously improved. Full remote, direct-hire permanent position. Responsibilities

• Security Architecture: Design and implement security architectures for cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Cloud Security: Secure cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and integrate security controls for on-prem systems (COLO).
• Disaster Recovery: Lead disaster recovery planning, execution, and testing for both cloud and on-prem systems.
• Collaboration: Serve as the primary security contact with third-party COLO providers, ensuring compliance and service level agreements.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security risk assessments and implement strategies to address vulnerabilities.
• Compliance: Develop and enforce security policies to ensure compliance with industry standards like ISO 27001, HITRUST, and HIPAA.
• Incident Response: Lead incident response protocols to minimize downtime and data loss in case of a security breach.
• Team Collaboration: Work with IT Engineers to deploy security solutions and provide hands-on guidance.
• Security Awareness: Promote a security-conscious culture within the organization and stay updated on emerging threats.
  
  

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in IT security architecture, with a focus on cloud and hybrid environments.
• Expertise in Azure with relevant certifications (Azure Security Engineer).
• Experience with COLO data centers and on-prem infrastructure.
• Proven experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Strong knowledge of network security, encryption, identity management, and incident response.
• Familiarity with compliance regulations (ISO 27001, HITRUST, HIPAA).
• Experience with security frameworks like NIST, CIS Controls, or Zero Trust.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and with third-party vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
