Summary/Objective: As the Sales Manager, you will lead a passionate team committed to delivering results and providing exceptional customer service. You will work cross-functionally with all departments and be responsible for achieving the total sales goal for Northern Wisconsin. You'll bring experience in media and a passion for digital media, news, community service, and innovation.
Your role will involve setting strategies for various platforms, including online sales, podcasts, streaming, mobile, digital, social media, and events. Leveraging your expertise, you’ll connect with new clients, craft compelling advertising strategies, and drive impactful business outcomes for our local partners.
Essential Functions: Specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Foster a team-based culture and promote collaboration.
- Champion advertising products to key companies across Northeastern Wisconsin.
- Cultivate and maintain genuine connections with clients via phone, email, and networking.
- Analyze client success metrics and guide businesses on optimizing their local advertising strategies.
- Build and sustain long-term client relationships by understanding their needs and recommending tailored solutions.
- Recruit, retain, and develop top talent within the Sales Department.
- Establish systems of accountability and performance metrics.
- Lead, train, and engage your sales team on evolving media trends, including digital and data analysis.
- Grow relationships with clients through individual and joint meetings with Account Executives.
- Utilize data and resources to guide management and operational decision-making.
- Create sales opportunities aligned with client needs.
- Oversee financial metrics, including pricing, inventory, expense management, revenue pacing, and forecasting.
- Monitor competition and market trends.
Required Skills:
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with strong relationship management abilities.
- A passion for sales, with a solution-oriented mindset in challenging situations.
- 3 years of experience in sales.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with a proven ability to develop talent and build a high-performance culture.
- Expertise in strategic account management, sales training/leadership, pricing, and budgeting.
- Experience with CMS platforms, preferably Salesforce, to manage teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED). BS/BA Degree Preferred.
- High work intensity with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality results on or before deadlines.
- Skilled negotiator.
- Demonstrable track record of maintaining the confidentiality of customer, donor, corporate and organizational information.
- Reliable transportation with a valid WI Driver’s License.
- Must possess superior customer service, speaking, and listening skills.
- A professional appearance and demeanor with the ability to deal courteously and diplomatically with the public both internal and external, on the phone and in person.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performing environment and appropriately interface with similar executives at other tribal broadcast organizations and corporations as well as music and entertainment industry professionals.
- Dependable, trustworthy and responsible team player, well organized, detailed, and shows initiative, ability to multi‐task with flexibility and openness to various duties.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, compassion, and understanding toward our listeners, and communities. Serve enthusiastically as one of the primary ambassadors of our organization in this public-facing position.
