The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst, is a key business partner to the organization, playing a crucial role in a company’s financial health and strategic planning. This role engages in strategic support and enabling value-added, data-driven financial analysis to support timely business and major corporate decisions. This individual also leads budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial data, providing overall support and working closely with business leaders and the Executive Team to facilitate the use of dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to help manage the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recognized as a leader for company financial analysis with ability to gather, interpret and recommend from a broad company view.

  • Develop and track various data metrics, including monthly KPIs, updates to forecasts and other business models, ensuring validity of customer, operational and financial data.
  • Develop and / or coordinate Power BI reports and dashboards for all levels of management and for Board of Directors read-outs.
  • Develop and maintain a three-statement projection model, enabling analysis of output on various strategic input options; present recommendations of options with support to Executive Team.
  • In-depth financial, cost, margin and profitability analysis based on accurate company and marketing data; report on trends, anomalies and deviations
  • Produce and support reports / dashboards for Executive Team and Board of Directors; effective communication includes verbal, written and through PowerPoint presentations.
  • Coordinate, develop and update written policies and procedures over the financial data reporting process.
  • Perform trend analysis and actively evaluate sales and margin performance to identify potential risk areas and validate forecasts by product, customer and geography. In addition, perform price / volume / mix analysis.
  • Conduct detailed revenue analytics to measure and monitor progress on the company’s various go-to-market strategies and analyze market behavior.
  • Maintain and enhance the financial model to generate annual sales budgets and periodic forecasts that guide the company in achieving its strategic growth objectives.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses pertaining to a broad range of business activities including, but not limited to, industry trends, benchmark comparisons, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Provide the management team and Board of Directors with data vital to strategic and tactical decision-making; interpret data and provide recommendations based on the data.
  • Manage the monthly financial reporting process.
  • Assist with the creation of quarterly presentations to the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of key business performance metrics.
  • Conduct synergy analysis on future acquisition targets.
  • Assist with the integration of future acquisition targets into company reporting and KPI metrics.
  • Assists CFO / Controller / CEO as needed, including leading special projects.
  • Assist with developing and managing a data warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • 5 years of experience in accounting / finance / business analysis; preferably in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Merger and acquisition experience
  • Background with PE-backed companies and / or investment banking
  • Strong knowledge of financial / cash projection tools and processes, financial modeling, and strategic KPI creation and reporting.
  • Corporate budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • Creative and innovative approaches and solutions on a project-by-project basis.
  • TECHNICAL / COMPUTER SKILLS :

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Microsoft Excel) and relevant project management software.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools, data retrieval tools, and various ERP systems
