Job Overview
LACROIX Electronics is seeking a skilled SMT Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining automated surface mount technology (SMT) equipment to ensure efficient production and compliance with company standards. Additional responsibilities may include quality assurance and documentation to uphold manufacturing standards.
Schedule/Compensation:
We have opportunities available for 1st Shift (6:45 AM – 3:00 PM) and 3rd Shift (10:45 PM – 7:00 AM). Competitive pay ranges from $17–$19 per hour, based on experience, with a $1.50/hour shift premium for 3rd Shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate SMT assembly equipment (Screen Printer, Pick and Place Machine, Reflow Oven) – training provided
- Perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components
- Pick components and prepare kits for manufacturing
- Conduct visual inspections of SMT assemblies following IPC-A-610 standards
- Ability to interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability and customer specifications
- Maintain accurate job tracking records
- Train co-workers and assist in troubleshooting
- Follow company policies and ensure a clean work area
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) components & processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment efficiently and accurately
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small electronic components
- Must have the ability to accurately read and interpret assembly instructions
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Prior experience in electronics manufacturing, SMT operations, or related fields preferred
- Basic computer skills required
