We are looking for an Optometric Technician to join our team!
LaCroix Eye Care is a multi-specialty optometry private practice that provides full-scope, comprehensive eyecare and optical services. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with prior experience in eyecare who is capable of being cross-trained in the following areas and looking to work with a team that cares about the patients they serve.
Responsibilities:
- Technician: Pre-test the patient prior to their exam with the doctor. Testing includes but is not limited to: taking retinal photographs, measuring eye pressures with a handheld device (iCare), taking a patient history, performing other automated eye tests
- Comfortable and capable with learning to scribe, if needed
- Assist with checking in patients, making appointments, confirming appointments, answering phone calls, triaging phone calls.
- Assist with daily preparation: preparing charts, opening/closing exam rooms, turning on/shutting down equipment
- Develop skills in the following areas: performing specialty eye tests such as retinal photography, OCT retinal imaging, and visual field testing.
- Assist with new wearer, contact lens classes for patients
- Contact lens ordering
- Open to helping pull insurance, if needed
- Help to educate patients of the eyecare services and benefits we provide
- Help to clean and organize the office after every patient visit or during downtime
- Other duties as assigned by doctors
