What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Lafayette American?
Lafayette American is seeking a talented accounting professional to participate in accounting and finance functions as they evolve with the growth of the Agency. The candidate must be:
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Inspired by working in a creative environment
- Capable of working independently and handling several projects concurrently
This position reports to the Head of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable; set up vendors and contractors. Input invoices into Quickbooks
- Assist with preparation of accurate journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other month-end close activities
- Assist with expense report review
- Maintain project trackers for monthly revenue recognition process, communicate status updates to Finance Leadership and team
- Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting as required by Finance Leadership
Skills / Qualifications:
- 6 months of relevant bookkeeping and/or accounting experience
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting required, or working toward one
- Solid analytical skills
- High energy level and desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, G-Suite
- Quickbooks experience a plus
