What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineering Aide Specialist I (LUS) position at Lafayette Consolidated Government?
PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Positions performs non-routine technical work on civil engineering projects, with responsibility for applying theory and principles of civil engineering to projects. Position compiles and computes a variety of engineering data, analyzes data and prepares reports, and / or develops / prepares / makes recommendations regarding schematics, designs, specifications, parts lists, etc. Position also performs surveying, drafts dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects, coordinates water / wastewater construction projects, and reviews and processes construction contracts, ensuring conformance to standards.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree or completion of a technical specialty program of eighteen months to three years duration in civil engineering technology (or closely related field) and significant prior working experience in the civil engineering field incorporating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION
Examination will be a multiple-choice test.
