What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Assistant (On-Site) position at Lafayette Home Office?
The Human Resource assistant position will provide administrative support within the HR department. This includes answering phones, preparing new hire badges, answering general e-mail inbox inquires and other duties as assigned.
- Responds to requests for items needed from personnel files on a daily basis, constantly ongoing. Coordinates files pickup/deliveries from storage company.
- Submits Badge requests through Badge Vendor as well as prints in office as needed.
- Responds to email inquiries in Ask HR email box and/or forwards the email to the appropriate HR Staff for follow up.
- Processes invoices of employee benefit information (medical, dental, health coverage) for employees on Leave of Absence. Sends communications and benefit termination letters at scheduled timeframes.
- Assists department with special projects and company wide communications as needed. Projects include email, flyers, and general company communications to employees.
- Communicates with employees on Leave of Absence to review payments, follow up on documents needed for Leave Certification.
- Assists with Department of Labor notices and requests from state labor agencies regarding communications and paper work on an as needed basis. Specifically focusing on employment and verification of employment.
- Receives and processes employment and wage verifications on as needed basis. Filing properly and processing through the proper channels. Making sure documents are signed off on.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Assists with processing existing and new employee information regarding pay as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 year in a human resources role.
- Must possess proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and internet usage.
- Must possess general clerical, organizational, time management, and written/oral communication skills.
