SUMMARY:

The Director of Crisis Services serves as a key leader within Lafayette House's integrated service delivery model, providing strategic direction and operational oversight for comprehensive crisis intervention and emergency services serving individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma. This senior-level position is an integral member of the Senior Operations Team, contributing to organizational strategy and growth while ensuring excellence in crisis response and service delivery outcomes. This role requires exceptional leadership abilities to manage diverse teams while fostering collaboration across departments to ensure seamless crisis response and emergency shelter operations. This position is responsible for implementing evidence-based, trauma-informed crisis services while ensuring program excellence, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth. This is a salaried, exempt administrative position as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor, with hours and schedule established to fulfill the role's responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple service lines, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement while ensuring strong succession planning.

2. Provide strategic direction and oversight for all crisis response programs, including emergency shelter services, sexual assault response, case management, and food services operations.

3. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services through program development, implementation, and evaluation.

4. Assist with and execute comprehensive policies and procedures that align with best practices in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention, ensuring consistent implementation across all emergency response programs.

5. Monitor program outcomes and quality metrics, implementing improvements based on data-driven analysis and industry best practices.

6. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining necessary licensure and certification requirements of programs.

7. Participate in decision-making and execution as a member of the Senior Operations Team to advance organizational mission and goals.

8. Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory bodies.

9. Oversee staff development and training initiatives to ensure consistent service delivery and professional growth.

10. Lead quality improvement initiatives across all crisis programs, fostering innovation and evidence-based practices.

11. Coordinate emergency response systems across all programs, ensuring 24/7 coverage and appropriate crisis intervention protocols.

12. Performs other duties deemed appropriate and assigned by the CPO.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in crisis intervention or social services, with at least two years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in domestic violence, sexual assault response, and trauma-informed care.
  • Proven track record of successful program development and implementation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Five years in a senior leadership role in crisis intervention or social services.
  • Demonstrated success in senior leadership role with staff management responsibilities.
  • Experience with program evaluation and quality assurance.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent clinical licensure.

1. Exceptional leadership ability with proven experience in managing diverse teams and programs.

2. Advanced understanding of trauma-informed care principles and best practices in crisis intervention.

3. Strong program development capabilities with emphasis on emergency response systems.

4. Excellence in written and verbal communication, with ability to effectively interact with staff, clients, law enforcement, and community partners.

5. Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance and quality assurance.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make complex decisions while supporting team-based approaches.

7. Exceptional cultural competency with the ability to create inclusive environments.

8. Advanced capability in crisis assessment and intervention strategies.

9. Proficiency in program evaluation and outcomes measurement.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

1. Clinical licensure preferred (LCSW, LPC, or equivalent).

2. Completed Family Care and Safety Registry indicating employee is not a threat to the health, safety or welfare of clients and pass Department of Mental Health employment eligibility review.

3. Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
