Surgical Assistant

Lafayette Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Group in Lafayette, Indiana is seeking a skilled and committed Surgical Assistant to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Oral Surgeon during a variety of surgical procedures, such as tooth extractions and dental implants.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following required procedures and protocols.
• Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality.
• Review patient health history to ensure it is recorded accurately and completely.
• Follow infection control protocol and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after surgical treatment.
• Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery.
• Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation.
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer and practice software.
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential per HIPAA guidelines.

• 1 years of Surgical Technician, Oral Surgery Assistant, or Dental Assistant experience is preferred but not required.
• Certification or Associate Degree in an accredited Dental Assisting program preferred but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
• Detail oriented, punctual, and patient-care focused.
• Consistent professional appearance and attitude.
• Motivated to grow and learn.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
