The La Quinta and Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Mount Laurel / Moorestown, a part of Lahn Hospitality and Amusement Group, is seeking a full-time Assistant General Manager for its dual branded hotel.

The LaQuinta and Hawthorn Extended Stay property is a select service hotel complete with 125 rooms, an indoor swimming pool, exercise gym, a meeting space, and limited food service including breakfast buffet.

Position Description

We are looking for an exceptional operations professional to join our Dual Branded LaQuinta and Hawthorn Extended Stay Mount Laurel / Moorestown!

As a key member of the property leadership team, the Assistant General Manager is the on-site, professional leader of the operations and sales team of the hotel and has accountability for the day-to-day operations. This position is responsible for all aspects of the hotel operation including hiring, training and providing support and mentorship for the department managers, the operations team and front-line staff. The Assistant General Manager is also responsible for achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation while managing costs. The Assistant General Manager will also keep an open line of communication for all the needs of any guests that will be visiting The Funplex during their stay. Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of ethical leadership to lead the property to achieve its business goals.

Job Responsibilities

Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.

Ensures the efficient operation of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager by supervising and supporting all departments.

Directly oversee the front desk agents and respond to guest reviews in a timely manner.

Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with department managers.

Assist in creating an environment where employees make empowered decisions to ensure guest satisfaction. Follow up on all empowerment successes and opportunities with the appropriate Department Head.

Create financial reports as required by the General Manager.

Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.

As needed, assist the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, and training for Guest Services based on occupancy.

Participate in weekly meeting with all staff.

Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment that focuses on the guest through employee development and motivation.

Be familiar with S.O.P.'s in all Operations departments.

Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with department managers, operations supervisors and all front-line staff.

Complete required corporate training modules and become certified to train those as required.

Be in the public areas during peak times greeting guests and offering assistance as needed.

Maintain procedures for handling the hotel safe, specifically with regard to security.

Attend all scheduled meetings that take place on the property when you are scheduled.

Requirements

4 years of Hotel Management Experience (Wyndham experience preferred)

Knowledge of Opera Cloud System preferred

Must be dependable and willing to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays

Must demonstrate the ability to work under pressure while multitasking, have strong organizational skills, and be able to pay attention to detail

Strong Communicator that can work independently

Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Must be effective at listening to understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.

Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.

Salary Range : $60,000-$65,000 / year

About the Organization

Lahn Hospitality Group is a growing family-owned company comprised of a variety of hospitality businesses including amusement parks, a hotel, restaurants, bars, golf courses and more.

Since 1997, The Funplex has owned and operated an amusement park company with two locations along the East Coast. The parks are a combination of family-friendly and thrill amusement rides, waterparks, bowling centers, and arcades.

In December 2021, Lahn Hospitality Group purchased The Legacy Club in Cherry Hill, NJ, a country club with a prestigious golf course and membership. The club underwent significant renovation including a new restaurant, atrium event facility, and much more. In the fall of 2023 LHAG opened its first dual branded hotel, La Quinta and Hawthorn Suites, complete with 125 rooms and the first in the area to combine two different Wyndham brands.
