Job Description

Laird Family Estate, a premium custom crush winery in Napa, is looking for a reliable, detail oriented, enthusiastic individual for our Controller position. This is an opportunity to join our family-owned winery in Napa that focuses on small lot, high end wines from some of the top brands in the Napa Valley.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Controller is responsible for all accounting functions at multiple locations and must have a strong background working with QuickBooks Enterprise. Must have excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to prioritize. Must be a quick learner, and self-starter. Must have a complete understanding of accounting principles, and a minimum of 5 or more years of accounting experience. The person that fills this position will be comfortable working with Paychex.

This position is an on-site job at Laird Family Estate.

  • Manage office, all accounting records of client contracts and employments records
  • Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Bank Reconciliation, Sales Tax Reports, Financial Statements
  • All banking of weekly deposits, ACH deposits, payments, and credit card.
  • Manage all office equipment leases and rental agreements
  • Keep up to date inventory of all fixed assets (equipment purchases) for annual Property Tax filings, and audits
  • Work with CPA for company annual 1040 tax filings, and journal entry’s
  • Provide support for any HR issues including reviews, company handbook and workers comp claims
  • Work directly with Insurance brokers on all insurance renewals. Workman’s Comp, Liability, and employee benefits for medical and dental, and 401k set-up and contributions
  • Able to assist other departments with balancing and accounting changes
  • Prepare and filing of all 1099’s

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Accounting: 5 years (Required)
  • QuickBooks: 5 years (Required)
