What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Locate Technician (Natural Gas) position at Lake Apopka Natural Gas District?
Duties:
- Perform utility line locating duties to identify and mark underground utilities
- Use specialized equipment and tools to accurately locate and mark utility lines
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and drawings to determine the location of underground utilities
- Conduct field surveys and inspections to verify the accuracy of utility line locations
- Collaborate with construction crews and contractors to ensure the safe excavation around utility lines
- Maintain accurate records of utility line locations and markings
-Perform system patrolling and inspections
-Install, repair and replace line markers and test stations
-Other related duties as deemed necessary by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in utility locating, land surveying, or related field is preferred
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, and drawings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and contractors
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical stamina to perform outdoor fieldwork
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $31.00 per hour
