POSITION OVERVIEW: The Administrative Assistant to the Admissions and Marketing Department at Lake Area Technical College provides essential administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient functioning of recruitment, admissions, and marketing initiatives. This role involves managing daily office tasks, coordinating communications, supporting events, and assisting with promotional efforts to enhance the college's visibility and outreach.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or customer service role, preferably in higher education or a marketing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software (e.g., database management systems, social media platforms).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as typing.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds for materials distribution.
  • This position operates in a standard office environment.

 

A REPORTS TO: Dean of Student Services; Assistant Dean of Student Services; and Vice President

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Admissions & Records Management
  • Process and review admissions applications, including those for specialized programs.
  • Ensure accuracy of required documentation and compliance with policies.
  • Monitor and update student records, including immunization documentation.
  • Generate, review, and distribute enrollment and tuition reports.
  1. Communication & Student Interaction
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, answering questions and guiding them through the admissions process.
  • Develop and execute communication flows for incoming students, ensuring timely and professional correspondence.
  • Communicate admissions decisions promptly to students.
  1. Special Events
  • Assist with organizing and supporting recruitment and promotional events.
  1. Support & Additional Duties
  • Collaborate with other student services areas to enhance the student experience.
  • Perform additional tasks to support the overall goals of the admissions and marketing departments.
