Location Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensure prompt and efficient delivery of food from the kitchen to guests.
2. Verify order accuracy, ensuring all modifications, sides, and special requests are included.
3. Carry multiple plates safely and navigate the restaurant efficiently.
4. Serve food at the appropriate temperature and ensure proper presentation.
5. Provide additional condiments, refills, and utensils as needed.
6. Answer basic questions about the menu, including ingredients and allergens.
7. Assist guests with special requests and communicate their needs to the kitchen or servers.
8. Restock kitchen stations with necessary items such as plates, utensils, condiments, and to-go containers.
9. Ensure expo and pass-through areas are stocked and ready for service.
10. Refill bread, sauces, garnishes, and other frequently used items to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
11. Properly label and date food items before storing to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety regulations.
12. Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) to prevent food waste.
13. Maintain clean and organized food storage areas.
14. Relay messages between the kitchen and servers, such as modifications or delays
15. Inform chefs of any returned or incorrect food orders.
16. Support co-workers by helping where needed to enhance the overall guest experience.
17. Read order tickets and assemble the order in the kitchen area.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Occasionally assist with simple food prep tasks such as garnishing plates or assembling takeout orders.
Refilling water pitchers, coffee, and other beverage stations as needed.

Overview:
The Food Runner is responsible for assembling and delivering orders to the guest. This position must have proper knowledge of order taking and service standards.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Changing trash bags, sweeping, or performing other small tasks to keep the restaurant clean.
Execute tasks as directed by supervisors, managers, or directors across various resort areas within the Food and Beverage Department, including but not limited to seating guests and assisting with banquet functions.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year’s restaurant experience, preferred.
Pleasant and engaging personality.
Excellent communication skills.
California Food Handlers Card and RBS Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance and personal hygiene.
Effective verbal communication skills.
Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to receive training and instructions, interact with guests and other associates.
Must be comfortable with standing and walking for long periods of time on your feet.
Must be able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Compensation Range: The compensation for this position is $16.50/Hr. - $17.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience. One year’s restaurant experience, preferred.
