What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Hostess position at Lake Breeze Ski Lodge?
Job Type: Part-Time (March, April, May, September, October - Weekends Only: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, with some opportunity for Monday & Thursday work on select weeks) & Full-Time (June, July, August - 7 Days a Week). There is also some opportunity for working private events in the off-season months.
About Us:
Lake Breeze Ski Lodge is a premier seasonal restaurant known for its beautiful lakeside views, excellent food, and welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for friendly and organized Cashiers/Hostesses to be the first point of contact for our guests. This is a great opportunity for teens (preferred ages 16 and 17) looking for their first job in a fun, social, and fast-paced work environment!
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and provide a welcoming first impression.
- Manage reservations and seating to ensure smooth flow of service.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and assist with takeout orders.
- Keep the hostess station clean and organized.
- Provide menu information and answer basic questions about the restaurant.
- Assist with light cleaning duties, including wiping down tables and organizing menus.
- Work closely with servers and bussers to ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Check guests in and out of hotel rooms.
- Basic alphabetical filing.
- Handle t-shirt and merchandise sales and organization.
- Occasionally assist with office work as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be 16 years old.
- No prior experience necessary—perfect for a first job!
- Friendly, outgoing, and customer-service oriented.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
- Must be available to work weekends in the spring and fall. Schedules vary in summer.
- Must adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
