- The Senior Accountant provides assistance in the accounting Department, maintaining and reporting all accounting applications. Overall responsibility for assisting in all functions of the accounting department.
- Oversee month-end process to include journal entries, resolving financial issues, preliminary review of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Prepare monthly reports on budget vs. actual results and/or financial presentation packages.
- Reconcile bank statements to general ledger.
- Maintain Fixed Assets and Leases which includes monthly roll-forward.
- Assist/responsible for annual budget process for entire health system.
- Prepare local and state tax returns and coordinate filings with external partners.
- Assist CFO & Controller with quarterly, annual, and special bond disclosures.
- Communicates appropriately with management and outside auditors.
- Work closely and professionally with System leaders while reviewing monthly operating reports.
- Responsible for month end reconciliations and resolves any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in meetings as required.
- Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and equivalent work experience in the Accounting Field.
- 4-5 Years of experience of working in accounting.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
- Ability to define and solve problems individually.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
- Work may require a variety of physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, stooping.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
- The work environment may be physically confining.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with patients, family, peers and medical personnel.
