Essential Responsibilities
- Support our metal plating lines by monitoring tank temperatures
- Test and measure chemicals for the plating process
- Maintain an organized working environment by utilizing 5S techniques
- Perform scheduled testing of processing lines with accurate record of results
- Operate / troubleshoot subsystems such as filters, pumps, pH monitors
- Complete chemical additions and adjustments to the processes as needed
- Fill and empty tanks / drums as needed
- Tank preventive maintenance and cleaning
- Suggests improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency
Wastewater Treatment (WWT)
- Proficient with Wastewater Treatment
- Ensure wastewater discharge is below regulated limits
- Troubleshoot issues that arise with the help of the Technical Director’s guidance
- Follow checklists to ensure all pH/ORP readings are within range, strainers are cleaned, and there are no solids in the clarifier discharge.
- Make chemical additions
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the Chemistry Technician is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and hazardous chemicals. The performance of this position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, chemical resistant boots, Tyvek suits, steel-toed footwear, shields, gloves, and any other PPE as needed. The noise level is moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the Chemistry Technician is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and move items over 110 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are assigned to production and maintenance needs.

Qualifications or Skills Required
Valid drivers license and ability to drive between locations as needed
Strong desire to learn and comfortable working in a high-energy, results focused environment.
Basic proficiency in English required (reading, writing, and speaking).

Preferred Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED required
Experience with Microsoft Office preferred
Forklift experience preferred
One or more years of experience working in a laboratory and/or working with chemicals in a manufacturing environment preferred
Cook and/or experience reading and interpreting recipe or similar instructions
