What You Will Do
Play a key role in chemical test technical leadership, test services, and analysis to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, quality, process improvement, or product development. Specifically, you will:
- Use schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on raw materials, finished consumable products, welds, and machine components.
- Gather, maintains, format, compile and manipulate technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.
- Understand and explain the detailed test theory and machine operation; reports results and keep thorough records.
- Maintain assigned test equipment, including preventive maintenance and minor repairs, and ensures devices are operating correctly and safely. Keeps assigned work areas clean.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy, including continuous improvement (Lean / 5S) activities.
- Chemistry degree (Bachelor of Science) preferred OR 15 years of experience in analytical chemistry testing and analysis, along with GED, and proven technical knowledge of this field.
- Has full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures: ICPs, Spark OES testers, Carbon/Sulfur or Moisture Analyzers and/or other analytical chemistry test devices.
- Experience managing multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Experience working within defined technical processes and procedures; installing new equipment when needed.
- Computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office and other software.
- Safety experience including best practices and required standards, industrial environments preferred.
- Capable of lifting loads up to 60 pounds.
