What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nature Camp Counselor position at Lake County Forest Preserve District?
Temporary Position – Approximately 30 hours per week – 6 Weeks
Location: General Offices and Independence Grove (Libertyville)
SUMMARY
The Nature Camp Counselor position provides a Lake County High School Youth with an opportunity to explore the field of Environmental Education. This position offers the opportunity for a youth to assist District Educators with summer camp programming. The position offers leadership experience and enhances knowledge of the natural and human history of Lake County. The Nature Camp Counselor assists Environmental Educators with presenting programs on topics such as plants, ecology, and interconnectedness.
EXPERIENCE
Lake County High School student between the ages of 16 and 19. Preference will be given to student who resides in Waukegan, North Chicago, Zion, Beach Park, Park City and Round Lake. Desire to learn more about the field of education. Must be able to work as part of a team. Upon employment, must successfully complete and obtain certification in American Red Cross CPR and First Aid.
