What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator - Outpatient Substance Abuse Program (SAP) position at Lake County Illinois?
General Description
Schedule: 40 hours a week
- Monday - Friday (9-5pm)
Essential Functions
- Provides clinical and administrative supervision and development of SAP program staff, including completion of Annual Performance Appraisals.
- Responsible for oversight and management of all State and/or Federal Grants awarded to any SAP programs.
- Monitors the program’s adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Assures ongoing program and staff compliance with Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center policies and procedures.
- Assures SAP programs are in compliance with all regulatory agencies: The Joint Commission, SUPR, DEA, HRSA, and works with the Assistant Clinical Coordinator and LCHD Clinical Compliance Officer to prepare all staff for regulatory audits and surveys.
- Stays current, and is knowledgeable about SUPR Rule 2060 regulations, ASAM criteria, SAMHSA’S Federal Guidelines for Opiate Treatment Programs and FQHC requirements.
- Oversees all SAP KPI targets, results and tracking and ensures that all staff are trained on quality improvement concepts, tools and techniques.
- Provides direction on the scope, types, and evaluation of clinical and administrative programming that is offered utilizing published best practices and empirically proven clinical methodologies in delivery of client care.
- Demonstrates leadership abilities in conducting administrative and clinical meetings and ensures effective communication among all staff regarding administrative and clinical issues.
- Participates in and is an active member internal and external committees/workgroups recommended by BH Administration.
- Coordinates, and supervises the program and conducts regular review of clinical records.
- Focuses on client empowerment in providing treatment, seeking to assist clients to build on strengths in addressing treatment needs.
- Collaborates with SAP clients and the treatment teams to develop, review and update treatment goals and referrals both internally and externally.
- Maintains an awareness of and professional involvement/collaboration with community resources.
- Attends in-service trainings and seminars to facilitate professional growth and maintain licensure.
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required
- Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, nursing or related field is strongly preferred, with four years’ experience in the chemical dependency/behavioral health field, which includes two years of supervisory experience (or)
- A Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, nursing or related field, with six years’ experience in the chemical dependency/behavioral health field, which includes two years of supervisory experience.
- Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Physician (MD), Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.), or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (L.C.P.C.).
