Auditing and Reimbursement Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Auditing and Reimbursement Specialist to conduct routine chart audits, communicate effectively with various departments, and coordinate outside audits. As an expert in reimbursement functions, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine chart audits to identify problematic areas and improvement needs
- Communicate effectively through reporting, meetings, and email to inform all applicable departments and Administration of findings
- Coordinate outside audits and act as an expert in charge and reimbursement functions
Requirements:
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current RN licensure to practice in Kentucky or multistate compact status
- Certification:
- RN-Coder Stat Program Course completion from the American Association of Clinical Coders & Auditors (AACCA)
- Annual AACCA membership
- Successful re-certification through AACCA every 2 years
- Skills:
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Stress tolerance and appropriate action-taking
- Language Skills:
- Effective communication in English (verbal and written)
- Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in insurance office or physicians office
- 3 years general office experience
