Job Title : IT Technician
Reports to : IT Operations & Special Project Manager
Status : Full-Time
FSLA : Non-Exempt

Job Purpose :
Maintenance : Plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerned with the operation, repair, maintenance, and construction of IT facilities, equipment, and systems to minimize interruption and improve efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Maintenance)
Inspect IT facilities or review inspection reports to determine repairs, replacements, or improvements required.
Hire, train, and supervise IT Interns
Obtain bids when necessary for work from outside contractors.
Supervise and manage all in-house and contracted IT maintenance activities, including contractors, sub-contractors, or other vendors.
Analyze individual IT problems and provide solutions or recommendations for solutions.
Develop and implement a year-to-year IT maintenance program.
Develop and submit an annual IT maintenance budget and related management plan and direction of approved expenditures.
Develop daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly IT maintenance programs.
Responsible for inspection and approval of all IT repairs.
Develop and implement a building IT maintenance schedule.
Supervise contracted IT construction projects.
Oversee all IT capital enhancement projects.
Review and update, as necessary, all items listed on the IT Capital Reserve Analysis.
Qualifications :
Good working knowledge of IT systems, networks, and hardware.
Degree in Information Technology or equivalent job experience and 1 -3 years of IT-related experience.
Strong project management experience.
Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and system administration.
Ability to work with local / state organizations to protect the community’s IT assets from external sources.
Strong team dynamics / skills necessary to interface with other managers, community committees / members, vendors, and government agencies.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
The ability to successfully manage subordinates and vendors.
Working Conditions :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work is often performed in office settings. Outdoor work is required in the inspection of various land use developments, construction sites, or public works facilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, at times loud when operating equipment.
Physical Requirements / Hazards :
Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places, and is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risks of electrical shock, and vibration.
Must occasionally lift and / or move heavy objects.
Office environment and construction job site activities, which may include walking, climbing, and bending, in a normal construction environment. This may include exposure to the natural elements, dust, insects, and conditions that could be hazardous or dangerous relative to construction sites.
Throughout the winter season, works with and operates snow removal equipment during cold, snowy, icy, slippery, and otherwise extreme weather-related conditions. This may lead to fatigue, exhaustion, back injuries from shoveling, frostbite, and slips / falls.
Outdoor operations throughout the spring, summer, and fall present hazards from extreme rainy, stormy weather. During these conditions, the employee may be subject to heavy shoveling, raking, and moving of wet, heavy material from ditches and roadways. Operation of equipment in stormy weather requires caution when using.
Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
