Software Support Specialist

Start Date: ASAP

Position Summary:

To provide management of the PowerSchool system, including instruction and advice to PowerSchool end-users and coordination among all PowerSchool users.

Qualifications Educational and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or relevant experience preferred
• Prior experience working with the PowerSchool Student Information System.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in providing end-user support.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in troubleshooting computer software.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency with MS Office products
• Knowledge of HTML pages and demonstrated experience in editing HTML pages.
• Intermediate/advanced with SQL and PowerSchool proprietary tags/code (PSHTML)
• Experience with SFTP
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with teachers, administrators, parents, vendors,
• Effective communication, judgment, planning, and human relations skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain PowerSchool and PowerTeacher
• Perform all school set-up functions in PowerSchool.
• Create and maintain user accounts, security groups/roles within PowerSchool and other applications.
• Provide support and training to staff, parents, and students
• Provide technical assistance and support for PowerSchool and all linked programs/applications
• Create and maintain training materials and documentation.
• Submit required state reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Support data analysis, student assessments and grading, and other reporting needs
• Create and maintain advanced reporting capabilities with PowerSchool
• Continually strive to improve methods, techniques, and maintain current knowledge of student information systems and PowerSchool trends, research, and initiatives
• Work cooperatively with staff and outside vendors to set up data integration with PowerSchool
• Participate in appropriate professional development activities.
• Help with and monitor data integrity, operations, and assist with student data audits
• Support Director of Communications with Data Integration
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality pertaining to employee records, financial information, and student records.
• Demonstrate effective planning, organization, and teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: At-Will Salary Contract, Grade 4 ($50,619-$64,049)
