Salary: $11,546/Season ($3,782 for June, $3,822 each month for July and August)
Position Summary:
Direct the planning, development, implementation, administration and evaluation of the programs and activities of the Lake Grove Swim Park. The park is a component unit of the Lake Oswego School District.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as representative for the Lake Grove Swim Park with the assistance of an Assistant Director.
- Direct supervision of Swim Park and staff, including lifeguards.
- Organize and supervise swim park activities. Park typically opens to the public the first Saturday in June after LOSD students are released for the summer break, which is presently an anticipated opening date of Saturday June 14, 2025, and closes at the end of the day the last Sunday in August prior to the normal return date for LOSD teaching staff, which is a currently anticipated Park last date of Sunday, August 24, 2025.
- Demonstrate strength in decision-making, budget management, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Oversee maintenance of swim park facilities and grounds.
- Administrative responsibilities for payroll/bookkeeping.
- Administer general first aid and assist with lifeguard duties as needed.
- Be available to work in a supervisory role from mid- June through the beginning of September.
- This position requires some work to prepare for the opening of the park prior to June and work to be done in September after the Park's closure: this before and after season time is contemplated within the basic monthly salary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience supervising high school and/or college age staff preferred. Training in Bloodborne Pathogens and Child Abuse Prevention are required and can be obtained through the district. American Red Cross First Aid/CPR and Current Lifeguard Certification required. Experience managing secondary students and progressive discipline required. Ideal candidate will have experience working with Lake Oswego School District students.
Special Requirements:
The person employed for this position must hold an Oregon Teaching License, be able to verify identity and employment authorization, complete a pre-employment record check and be approved by the State Department of Education after having a Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Verification. The selected candidate will pay $10-$20 for a set of fingerprints and $66.00 for the verification check.
