Description
Lake Region Healthcare at Elbow Lake is the best of both worlds - a small town, rural facility with state-of-the-art innovations found in larger systems. Our on-site cafe is seeking an experienced Cook to prepare meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, vegetables, baked goods, salads, etc. which are of good quality, safe, and nutritious for regular and modified diets. This position reports to the Dietary Site Manager. The cook will work cooperatively with other cooking positions, cafeteria staff, and production staff in providing high quality food for patients, cafeteria customers, and special functions in a positive environment. The Cook completes the work procedures and priorities within the imposed time frame.
Hours
80 hours biweekly, with shifts typically from 9am-5pm, holiday rotation and occasional weekend work as needed.
Compensation
The hourly wage range for this role is $17.42-$23.42/hour. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
- Education/Special Skills: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one (1) year experience in healthcare or institutional cooking preferred. Must have basic food preparation skills. Must be able to handle food in a safe and sanitary manner. Must be able to adjust to changing production needs and work closely with a variety of people for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
- Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.
- Food Safety Certification or willingness to complete.
- Must be able to meet company expectations of being able to work independently at times.
