What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Asst (59854) position at Lake Region Healthcare?
The Ophthalmic Assistant exhibits proficient and professional communication with patients, co-workers and physicians. Performs a variety of support tasks to include but not limited to, greeting and rooming patients, identify their eye and vision care needs, gather patient histories, perform testing and administer eye drops. Carries out physician orders efficiently and accurately - including appropriate documentation in our electronic medical record. Be knowledgeable of all resources and services available within the clinic and community to provide optimum quality care to patients and their families.
Shifts: Day shifts, 48 hours biweekly
Compensation
Hourly Wage Range: $18.25 - $23.77 Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
- Education/Special Skills: Training as ophthalmology assistant or 1 year comparable experience; Certification preferred; basic math, and keyboard/typing skills. Proficient and professional communication, both verbal and written. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
- Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
- Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.
