Description
The purpose of the Phlebotomist position is to obtain specimens from patients of all ages with care and concern for patient’s welfare and safety. Assist the laboratory in preparing specimens for analysis and perform various clerical duties of the laboratory under direct supervision.

Our staff and our patients benefit from our highly-automated, 24/7 core lab coverage. Our scope of practice is extremely comprehensive, including the following: hematology, coagulation, microbiology, transfusion services, chemistry and special chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and histology. We also pride ourselves on helping up-and-coming lab professionals get their start by being a training site for phlebotomy and MLT interns. We are looking for hard-working, dedicated individuals to join our team!
Shifts
80 hours biweekly. Day shifts.
Compensation:
Hourly Wage Range: $16.81 - $22.43. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications
Degree from a Phlebotomy program which includes an appropriate internship under the direction of a pathologist in an approved laboratory or previous experience or education in a health related field. Ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to operate laboratory equipment, such as centrifuge, microscope and computer keyboard/word processor equipment. Ability to follow detailed blood collection and lab procedures and train for new procedures as needed. Must satisfactorily complete on-the-job training/orientation. Requires the ability to: perform at an independent level with minimal direction; exercise good judgement and initiative; problem solve, and make decisions in a variety of situations.
Salary : $17 - $22
