What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's Pastor position at Lake Sawyer Church?
We are looking for a new team member to oversee the Children's Ministry at Lake Sawyer Church. This individual will be responsible for the planning, organizing, and leading of all children's programs and events, while also building and leading volunteer teams. You will move the needle forward by creating experiences that introduce children to Jesus in a fun and engaging way, while also helping them grow in their faith.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Recruit, train, and develop a dynamic team of volunteers to lead various aspects of the Children's Ministry.
- Oversee the implementation of the Orange Curriculum and ensure it aligns with the vision and values of Lake Sawyer Church. Familiarity with the Orange Curriculum is essential.
- Create and maintain a welcoming and safe environment for all children and families.
- Collaborate with parents to support the spiritual growth of their children and encourage family participation in church activities.
- Plan and lead kids' events such as summer camps, and other seasonal events.
- Execute outreach strategies or events that target families with young children in our community.
- Develop and manage the Children's Ministry budget.
- Coordinate with other ministry leaders to integrate the Children's Ministry into the overall mission of the church.
For Bonus Points:
- You can juggle—literally or figuratively—five different ministries within one children's department.
- You’re basically a superhero, able to keep kids engaged even when they get bored—even if that means sharing about Jesus while playing Hot Potato.
WHO YOU ARE
- Passionate about children's ministry with a deep love for Jesus and a desire to share His love with kids.
- A galvanizer who is able to recruit, rally, and empower children's ministry volunteers.
- Experienced in children's ministry with a strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Creative and innovative, always looking for new ways to engage children and make learning fun.
- Excellent communicator and leader with strong organizational skills.
- A team player who can collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and parents.
- High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Children's Ministry, Education, or a related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of related work experience in children's ministry or a similar field.
- Actively supports and embodies the church’s mission, vision, and values.
