What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty, Fitness Education Center position at Lake Tahoe Community College?

Lake Tahoe Community College is seeking adjunct instructors who can teach in the Fitness Education Center and demonstrate a commitment to fostering a learning environment that promotes student success and diversity.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in fitness and health education, as well as the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students of all ages and abilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching fitness and health courses in a lab setting and gym facility
- Creating and promoting an effective learning environment to enhance student engagement and safety
- Assisting students with program design and development based on their goals and capabilities
- Demonstrating the use of gym equipment and proper form for weight and/or cardiovascular training
- Developing syllabuses and Canvas shells as required per institutional guidelines
- Meeting with and advising students throughout each quarter
- Maintaining professional knowledge and expertise in the field of fitness and health education
- Attending meetings, trainings, and orientations as necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education
OR Bachelors in any of the above AND Masters in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy
OR the equivalent
Demonstrated Sensitivity:
To and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
