Lake Washington School District is looking for qualified School Counselor candidates who are interested in working as a l ong-term (21-89 DAYS) Substitute School Counselor in the 2024-2025 school year . Substitute counselors work at all levels K - 12.
Qualifications :
- Certification / License : Washington State ESA Certification as a School Counselor REQUIRED
Substitute counselors work on an as needed basis during the school year to fill long term absences only . Work hours will vary based on the assignment. Substitute Counselors can only substitute as a School Counselor, unless you also have a valid Washington State teaching certificate.
Applications will be reviewed as openings occur. Mandatory orientation and training will occur after a candidate is selected for a position.

Rates for the 2024-2025 school year.
Certificated substitute daily pay rate (full day) : $217.00 per day.
Friday will be compensated at a Friday Super Rate of $242.00 for a full-day and $121.00 for a half-day (3 ½ hours).
Substitutes who work six (6) to twenty (20) consecutive days in the same assignment shall be paid $223.00 per day.
Substitute Bonus Program :
Substitutes who work 50-69 days per year will receive a $1,000.00 dollar bonus; substitutes who work 70-99 days per year will receive a $1,500.00 bonus; and substitutes who work 100 days per year will receive a $2,000.00 bonus at the end of the school year.
A day shall be equal to one full day or two half days. The bonus is paid at the end of the school year in the July paycheck.
Long Term Substitute Assignments :
Long-term substitute assignments in excess of twenty (20) days will be paid at the contract teacher rate, retroactive to the first day of assignment, except that when, in the judgment of Human Resources, the assignment appears at the onset to be a long-term assignment, the contract teacher rate may be paid from the beginning of the assignment.
