Position Summary
Summary:
The Clinical Liaison applies clinical knowledge, training and experience to serve on the front end of responding to patient needs. This staff member serves as the initial point of contact for patients across the ambulatory environment. The clinical liaison confers with office staff as needed to provide timely responses/resolution to patient needs. Standard operating procedures and established provider protocols serve as a basis for providing consistent and quality driven patient care.

- Deliver outstanding customer service in response to incoming calls or messages received from both patients and staff within the organization.
- Gather information related to patient needs to determine level of support needed to address/resolve emerging needs or any ongoing concerns.
- Provide appropriate responses using knowledge of regulatory and security standards.
- Schedule patient appointments as needed per established provider protocols and appropriate level of triage.
- Route any unresolved issues to provider offices and track the issue until resolved.
- Makes every effort to resolve any problems with a proactive and friendly approach.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Essential:
- High School or Equivalent
- Associate Degree
Education equivalent experience:
Nonessential:
- Health related field
Other information:
Experience Essential:
- A minimum of one-year experience working in a health care setting that included direct patient care or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one year of experience.
- Experience working in an ambulatory clinic environment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
- Experience working in an environment requiring strong communication skills
Experience Preferred:
- Experience using a multi-line telephone system.
- Experience with appointment scheduling.
- Experience with telephone triage for the adult population.
- Experience with insurance and determining eligibility.
- EPIC experience
Licenses Preferred: BLS
