Clean and maintain the district's buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors. As a Maintenance Professional, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including cleaning floors, dusting furniture, washing windows, and sanitizing restrooms.
Main Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and students to ensure seamless operation of facilities.
- Keep assigned work areas neat and clean at all times, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Vacuum, shampoo, sweep, mop, wax, polish, and scrub floor surfaces to ensure they are clean and safe.
- Clean and dust furnishings, fixtures, and equipment to maintain a pleasant working environment.
- Wash windows and mirrors to provide clear visibility and a sense of well-being.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, showers, and locker rooms to prevent the spread of germs and illness.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is in good working order and properly maintained.
- Clean chalkboards and whiteboards on a regular basis to facilitate effective communication and learning.
- Collect trash and place it in designated receptacles to maintain a tidy and hygienic environment.
- Move furniture and equipment as necessary to accommodate special events or rearrangements.
- Set up and tear down facilities for special events, conferences, and meetings.
- Shovel snow from steps and sidewalks as needed to ensure safe access.
- Apply sand and ice-melting materials to steps and sidewalks as required to prevent slipping hazards.
- Report any items that require repair or maintenance to ensure facilities remain in good condition.
- Verify that exterior doors are locked according to building schedules, all doors and windows are secure, and lights and equipment are turned off to conserve energy and resources.
- Raise and lower flags at prescribed times to display school spirit and patriotism.
- Keep grounds free of trash, mow lawns, and trim trees as directed to maintain a beautiful and welcoming campus.
- Substitute for other district employees when needed to support team members and ensure continuity of services.
