Lakeshore Talent is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a direct-hire opportunity in Sacramento, CA!
Position Details :
Location : Sacramento, CA
Pay : Salary $69,742- $87,360 (DOE)
Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours / week between 8-5
Work Environment : 70% on-site at Center, 30% in-home visits (1-3 visits per day)
Mileage Reimbursement : Provided
Requirements :
Current certification from the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain one
Personal transportation, valid driver’s license, good driving record, and auto insurance as required by law
1 year of experience working with the frail or elderly
Preferred Qualifications :
2 years of COTA experience
Bilingual preferred
Software Utilized :
EPIC (Electronic Medical Records – EMR)
Outlook (Email communication)
MS Teams (Team meetings & communication)
Scope of Work :
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will administer occupational therapy to participants per physician orders and the plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OT). Responsibilities include :
Providing physician-prescribed occupational therapy under a written plan of care established, delegated, and supervised by the OT.
Developing treatment goals in collaboration with the OT.
Adapting intervention environment, tools, materials, and activities according to participant needs.
Engaging with participants’ family / caregivers in collaboration with the OT.
Assisting in preparing clinical and progress notes.
Educating participants and families on activities of daily living.
Participating in care planning with other healthcare professionals.
Preparing and updating medical records and progress notes.
Reporting changes in participants’ conditions and reevaluating treatment plans as needed.
Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within 24 hours of home visits.
Monitoring treatment areas, equipment, and inventory.
Participating in quality improvement activities and program evaluations.
