Job Title : Tennis & Pickleball Attendant

Department : Recreation

Reports To : Tennis / Pickleball Supervisor

Start Date : May – September; Seasonal

Salary : $14-$16.00 hour, commensurate with experience

Position Summary : This position focuses on seasonal operation of the Williams Tennis Campus and Hubbard Pickleball Center. The Tennis and Pickleball Staff are responsible for the daily operations and facility management of Tennis and Pickleball activities at Lakeside Chautauqua, including daily lessons, special events and court maintenance. Staff should be able to provide, at minimum, basic training and tennis and pickleball knowledge for all players and visitors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Monitors the use of tennis and pickleball courts, equipment, and activities
Proactively engages in conversation with players and guests and promotes tennis and pickleball programs ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
Provide excellent customer service to ensure high quality customer experience and satisfaction. Work to resolve all related issues tactfully, effectively, in a timely manner.
Assist with tennis & pickleball lessons, clinics, events as appropriate to personal skill level.
Assist Tennis or Pickleball Pro with needs for lessons, programs, etc.
Ensures the safety of all guests and staff and that all Lakeside Chautauqua rules and regulations are followed
Proactively perform required court maintenance as required. Dragging the courts, refreshing lines, drying of hard courts, etc. at Perry Park, Williams and Hubbard Courts. Report any issues to Tennis / Pickleball Supervisor
Maintains the organization and cleanliness of all tennis and pickleball equipment, facilities and grounds. Report any issues to Tennis / Pickleball Supervisor.
Collaborate with Facilities and grounds department to maintain flowerpots, and flower beds throughout campus grounds
Work directly with Tennis / Pickleball Supervisor, maintaining facility operations and integrity by assisting with daily operations and management.
Collect and / or confirm contact information and usage from all who utilize courts and / or equipment.
Assists with event registrations, check-ins, administrative duties as assigned by Tennis / Pickleball Supervisor,
Inventories all equipment and reports any necessary repairs or maintenance to Tennis / Pickleball Supervisor.
Oversee that all Lakeside Chautauqua rules and regulations are followed
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications :

Responsible High School student or equivalent

Minimum 3 years related tennis and pickleball experience or training

Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems d deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, climb or balance. Specific vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are required. Must be able to lift heavy equipment and material up to 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to climb ladders. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
