What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Server (On-Call) position at Lakeside Hotel Casino?
- Must be comfortable serving a variety of events that will vary in service style.
- Must be able to read a Banquet Event Order (BEO) and know how to complete a setup.
- Sets tables in assigned areas (or checks to see that they have been set) correctly and uniformly, using clean, pressed linen (without rips, stains, or tears); clean, unspotted silverware; clean china with no chips or cracks; clean unspotted glassware. Properly cleans and fills table complements (salt and pepper, sugar, breadbaskets, etc.)
- Know the menu for each function served.
- Keep the station neat and clean during service. Constantly patrol assigned station(s), serving food and beverages to guests as needed.
- Receives guest orders for food or beverages that vary from the set menu.
- Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items.
- Refers complaints about food to service to the supervisor on duty.
- Performs all opening and closing side duties assigned. Cleans function rooms and back-of-house areas during and after banquet functions.
- Sets up, serves, and breaks down coffee breaks, receptions, and other special functions, as assigned.
- Communicate with the Culinary team in a timely when food items are low.
- Maintain and understand compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform all job functions safely and responsibly.
- Complete all company-required training timely.
- Comply with all Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations and other local, state, or federal guidelines.
- Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to serve alcoholic beverages.
