Lakeside HR Group has been engaged to recruit a General Manager for our client in Fridley. As a trusted leader in the concrete and masonry industry, their mission is to deliver flawless concrete and masonry finishes. Their specialty is overcoming the most demanding project requirements by tackling complex and unique challenges with innovative solutions, and providing reliable, timely service through efficient collaboration across trades.

Position Summary :

As the General Manager, you will serve as a strategic advisor and executive leader managing the financial health and human resources of the company. This position will ensure fiscal responsibility, optimize financial performance, and develop initiatives to attract, develop and retain top talent. Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's future by aligning and people strategies with the company's strategic goals. This position plays the Integrator role in the business and is critical to driving growth through operational efficiency, financial health and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic plan.
  • Align financial and people strategies with the company's vision, mission, and goals.
  • Develop, review, update, and implement quarterly and annual strategic plans / rocks for the business.
  • Lead all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Oversee financial operations including payroll, accounts payable / receivable, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Develop financial strategies to ensure profitability, sustainability, and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory financial standards.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies to attract and retain top that align with the company's goals.
  • Own the strategy and execution of people programs, such as employee benefits, performance management, and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Implement effective delegation practices, ensuring teams are empowered and resources are optimally utilized.
  • Ensure transparent communication between leadership and staff, fostering an inclusive company culture.
  • Motivate, inspire, coach, and encourage employees.
  • Foster a growth mentality within the company and employees.

Qualifications :

  • 8 years of leadership experience in a growth-focused and operationally intensive environment.
  • Experience scaling operations in small to mid-sized companies.
  • Strong financial acumen, including financial planning, analysis, reporting, and cost control.
  • Hands-on experience with HR practices, talent management, and employee relations.
  • Skilled at communicating clearly and effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Preferred : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Preferred : Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
  • Preferred : Expertise in the EOS framework, with demonstrated success in an Integrator role.
