As a Leasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing tenant relations, facilitating lease agreements, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. Your role is crucial in maintaining high occupancy rates and providing exceptional customer service to prospective and current tenants.
Duties
- Assist in the leasing process by showing available properties to prospective tenants and providing detailed information about each unit.
- Prepare and manage lease agreements, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with legal standards.
- Conduct background checks and verify tenant applications to ensure eligibility.
- Maintain accurate records of all leasing activities, including data entry into property management software such as Yardi.
- Address tenant inquiries and resolve conflicts effectively, demonstrating strong conflict management skills.
- Collaborate with property management to ensure properties are well-maintained and meet tenant expectations.
- Stay updated on local real estate laws, including LIHTC regulations, to ensure compliance during the leasing process.
- Provide administrative support by organizing files, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence related to leasing activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in property leasing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong legal administrative skills with knowledge of real estate law.
- Proficiency in data entry and experience with property management software (Yardi preferred).
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
