Job Summary:
We’re hiring a Marina Operations Supervisor to lead our dock hands and ensure top-notch customer service. This role is ideal for someone with managerial experience, strong leadership skills, and a love for the outdoors. The position may extend year-round for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise dock hands
- Oversee the daily operations and manage the workflow of the team to meet production goals.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance to enhance their skills.
- Ensure exceptional customer service to marina patrons, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Operational Management:
- Oversee maintenance and cleaning of docks, boats, and the ship store.
- Lead and assist with fueling boats, boat & kayak rentals, ship store sales, and deli operations.
- Oversee deli operations and manage ship store orders and inventory.
- Schedule and coordinate staff shifts.
- Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Safety and Compliance:
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor equipment performance and conduct regular inspections to ensure proper functioning.
- Any Tennessee resident born after January 1, 1989, must show the TWRA-issued wallet Boating Safety Education Certificate as proof of successful completion of the TWRA Boating Safety exam.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in processes and recommend solutions to enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with others to coordinate activities and resolve any operational issues.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 or older.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to tolerate extreme summer heat.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Willingness to learn and perform various tasks.
- Ability to swim.
- Highly motivated and self-driven.
- Availability on weekends and holidays.
- Managerial experience and leadership skills.
- Self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Restaurant/retail experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of the lake and boater safety.
- Marina or similar experience.
Training:
Training starts late February/early March. The season runs from April to mid-October, with year-round potential.
