Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager (EHS)
The EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring all safety and environmental programs, procedures, training, work practices and controls are effectively implemented within the facility. This position is accountable for identifying applicable EHS regulations and risks while interacting with Operations, Quality, Planning, Legal and Engineering to implement acceptable systems in order to ensure compliance and conformance to all the company EHS Policies, Programs / Work Instructions, Safety & Health Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates EHS program objectives by providing clear and continuous direction to staff.
- Utilizes existing proactive safety tools & deploy improvements as needed.
- Be the site EHS expert and preferred point of contact for safety and environmental inquires.
- Manage processes to unsure company and regulatory requirements are met in relation to waste management, water discharge, air observation as well as assisting in permit obligations.
- Monitor EHS federal, state and local regulatory requirements and risk initiatives; analyze potential impacts on system operations; provide operations and executive management with information as appropriate.
- Facilitate required training on EHS topics to ensure all regulatory and company obligations are met
- Coordination and engagement of plant personnel and other personnel in the identification, development and implementation of EHS goals which will positively impact and add value to the organization.
- Manage EHS documents, permit administration utilizing appropriate retention rules.
- Partnering with HR for orientation training and to manage workers compensation cases.
- Maintains continued presence on floor as an observer, leader, trainer and main point of contact for EHS assistance.
- Manage incident reporting process and participate in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Identifying needed support from outside consultants; developing scopes of work.
- Supervise EHS staff.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.
Qualifications
Degree in related field preferred
