What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spring 2025 Learn to Row Coaches (May 27-June 13) position at Lakeside School?
- Compliance with all Lakeside School policies and procedures.
- Commitment to providing supports, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as athletes.
- Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
- Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel.
- Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
- Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
- At least 19 years of age with a clean driving record preferred.
- Experience coaching or participating in crew teams at the club, high school or college level.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. Candidates will understand different perspectives, interact respectfully with cultures other than their own, and cultivate meaningful relationships with people who have different cultural frameworks.
- Possess or obtain prior to the start of the season current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Satisfactorily complete at least two criminal background checks.

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for Four Learn to Row Coaches. This program takes place Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday beginning on May 27, 2025 and ending on June 13. Lakeside has its own boathouse in Kenmore where this program will be held. Coaches need to be present at the boathouse no later than 3 pm. Each practice will run until approximately 6 pm. There is also a need for at least one of these coaches to ride a bus with athletes from the school to the boathouse (additional compensation).
Responsibilities
These coaches, reporting to the girls and boys crew program heads, will join an athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The crew program supports varsity, JV, and novice teams which include Middle School students. These coaches will be responsible for helping to lead approximately 20 seventh-grade students each day in a learn-to-row camp setting. Specific responsibilities include:

Compensation
Stipend Range:$1200-$1300
We offer a stipend schedule that compares favorably with peer schools and clubs both locally and nationally. Coaching stipends are paid in monthly installments during the primary competition seasons. Other benefits include Lakeside Athletics apparel and access to funds for professional development.
