We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Relations Specialist (ERS) to join our dynamic human resources team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering positive employee relations, maintaining a healthy work environment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. This position requires a combination of interpersonal skills, conflict resolution expertise, and a deep understanding of HR best practices.
Responsibilities
• Candidate will act as primary point of contact for employee relations issues.
• Review and approve employee disciplinary actions such as written warnings and performance improvement plans.
• Conduct follow up to complaints and ensure complex workplace issues are resolved. Conduct employee relations investigations as applicable.
• Update and maintain complaints tracking and warning logs; maintain investigation files.
• Prepare applicable written materials for documentation and conveying information.
• Review involuntary terminations and attend termination meetings.
• Provide coaching to managers to enhance their people and performance management skills.
• Consult with and advise management regarding the interpretation of policies/practices to ensure compliance with legal and administrative requirements; facilitate resolution of issues.
• Conduct exit interviews: identify trends and generate metrics.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and city employment laws.
• Assist with the development and implementation of policies, programs and procedures related to employee relations.
• Participate in regulatory and HR audits.
• Conduct training sessions for employees and managers on relevant HR topics, including conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and workplace communication.
o Facilitate New Hire Orientation.
• Assist with the coordination of corporate community outreach events, Mentorship Program events, etc.
o Responsible for coordinating all employee events within the Horsham, PA office.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations records.
• Prepare reports and analyze trends to identify areas for improvement in employee relations and engagement.
• Serves as the HR representative at all unemployment claim hearings.
• Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven 4 years Human Resources experience.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Strong relationship management skills with experience in partnering with coaching and building credibility with senior leaders.
• Ability to use professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve a wide range of difficult problems.
• Ability to use judgment, creativity, and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.
• Strong communication skills: listening, verbal and written.
• Ability to manage performance, coach, and mentor; provide training.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Knowledge of employment law; independently manages complex ER issues.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Demonstrated skill using MS Office (e.g. Excel).
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATION
• SHRM CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR, preferred.
