About Lakewood Regional Support
Our regional support center provides resources to our hotels for multiple areas including Human Resources, Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Security, Group Reservations, Guest Contact Center, Information Technology, Laundry and Communications.
What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate for the Area Director of Safety & Security position will be responsible for overseeing safety and security operations across Loews Hotels' eleven-resort campus, corporate headquarters, and off-site commercial laundry. The candidate should have the expertise to develop and implement comprehensive safety plans, lead a team of 350 security personnel, manage safety technology, and ensure guest and team member safety through strategic risk mitigation and fostering a secure environment.

What you will do:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the safety and security team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive safety and security plans, policies, and procedures
- Ensuring the safety and security of guests and team members through effective programs and training.
- Conducting and overseeing investigations related to safety and security incidents.
- Oversee the selection, placement, implementation, construction and maintenance of security systems, including access control, video surveillance, alarms, and emergency notification systems.
- Creatingg and executing programs to mitigate workplace violence and ensure emergency preparedness.
- Developing strategies to reduce risks and foster a secure environment for all stakeholders.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including HR, legal, operations, and engineering, to ensure a holistic approach to safety and security.
- Monitoring and analyzing safety and security data to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and community organizations to enhance the organization's ability to respond to emergencies and security incidents.
- Managing budgets and resources efficiently within the Safety & Security department.
Your experience includes:
- Understanding of physical security concepts, including perimeter protection, access control, and CCTV surveillance
- Experience with safety and security technology and systems is required.
- Strong leadership and team management skills is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is required.
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive safety and security plans is required.
- Proficiency in managing emergency response and workplace violence mitigation is required.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills is required.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, and/or prior command experience within a municipal police agency.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Lodging Security Director (CLSD) or Florida CPTED Practitioner (FCP) are highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel for business and industry events, conferences, and training is required.
- Availability to travel as needed for safety and security operations is preferred.
