JOB SUMMARY:
The HR site Manager is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies compliant with federal and state laws and aligned with Lala U.S.’s overall business goals. As the HR leader for the LALA Branded Products manufacturing facility in Omaha, NE, this individual will provide guidance and coaching to employees and management and will carry out responsibilities in functional areas of HR such as full cycle recruiting, people relations, training, labor relations, and personnel management.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
• Provide guidance and coaching to front line leaders and employees on topics such as: employee engagement, HR fundamentals, and company policies, people relations, performance management and progressive discipline, talent acquisition, labor relations, and workplace investigations as appropriate.
• Develop and implement local employee policies, ensuring consistency and compliance with federal and state laws.
• Manage the hiring process including drafting and posting job openings, scheduling and assisting with interviews, consulting supervisors on candidate selection, preparing offer letters, and managing drug and background screening processes.
• Provide day-to-day Union Relations support including the negotiation of all collective bargaining agreements and dispute resolution through the grievance procedure.
• Administer full employee life cycle from orientation and onboarding through terminations.
• Provide employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues.
• Maintain the org chart and updated job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
• Bi-weekly payroll review, ensuring supervisors provide timely and accurate input.
WORK EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
• 10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably including a food manufacturing, or similar industry in a union environment.
• 5 years Union/Labor relations experience highly desired
• Knowledge of relevant U.S. federal and Nebraska state employment legislation and HR best practices
• General HR technical knowledge in compensation, benefits, training, recruiting, people relations, etc.
• Capable of maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in difficult situations
• Ability to be effective in a results-driven, entrepreneurial, fast-paced work environment.
• Lead high performing HR teams
• Collaborate and communicate with other function leaders such as Legal, and Operations
FORMAL EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures. Minimal Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic work to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions.
• The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is necessary.
• Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending on the project or assignment.
