Position: Assistant Superintendent/Inspector - Construction, starting immediately in Dannemora, NY/On-Site.
Scope: Assistant Superintendent/Inspector – Construction will assist the Superintendent in the daily management, supervision, coordination, inspection, and successful completion of projects to meet time and cost objectives. Responsible for inspecting several ongoing projects at Clinton and Adirondack Correctional Facilities. Performs routine inspections to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications. Identify and resolve any on-site issues or disputes. Maintain daily logs of construction site operations, attend job site meetings, and perform routine quality and safety checks. Prepare notes and minutes of meetings and coordinate the associated follow-up as required. Function as representative to all parties on project site. Make recommendations regarding project approach. Review contractor progress payments. Prepare, evaluate, and make recommendations to Superintendent related to change order proposals.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in construction management or related field, and two (2) years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent and/or Inspector in building construction trades or high school diploma or equivalent plus five (5) years of experience in construction or the building trades, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend plans, specifications, addenda, bid materials, contracts and related construction documents.
- Knowledge of all facets of the NYS Uniform Building Codes, including Fire Safety, ADA and other code requirements necessary to be compliant with the NYS guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet Explorer.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Possession of a valid NY State driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
