What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Attorney - Transactional position at Lalezarian Properties LLC?
Lalezarian Properties, an established real estate development and management company based out of Lake Success, New York, with multifamily, office and retail properties in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island and more is seeking a full-time transactional and business-minded real estate attorney to assist in all legal aspects of its commercial and residential real estate matters, including leasing, acquisitions, lender financing, construction and development, and general corporate matters. The staff attorney will report directly to the company principals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial leases
Reviewing purchase and sale agreements, loan documents and other agreements for a variety of real estate projects
The attorney will also be working frequently with outside counsel and internal development, leasing, property management, accounting, and other teams in connection with diverse real estate-related transactions and issues.
Attending meetings and conference calls as required
Qualifications:
Should have a minimum of 7-10 years of active experience in transactional real estate, preferably at a large or mid-sized New York or Long Island law firm
Must have an active license to practice law in New York State
Must have superior verbal, writing and presentation skills with exceptional attention to detail
Must possess strong legal research skills
Must be organized and be able to maintain accurate electronic files and records
Should be willing to attend court on occasion on behalf of landlord
Should have impeccable integrity and a strong work ethic, including a strong drive to work independently, multi-task and prioritize under pressure and deadlines
The successful candidate will be smart, dynamic, eager to learn internal processes and systems and ready to participate in numerous aspects of real estate development and investment firm
This is an in-office position 5 days a week from Monday through Friday; The attorney may need to respond to principals on occasion by email outside of normal working hours when there is a stringent deadline approaching
