Responsibilities
The Account Executive will be responsible for promoting and selling outdoor advertising to qualified advertisers in their assigned territory. This includes using professional sales techniques, developing long-term advertising relationships, and identifying potential growth areas and opening new accounts. Additionally, they will target businesses in the assigned area, visit established Lamar clients and competitor's clients, exhibit working knowledge of local and national competition, cluster accounts to work them efficiently, identify potential growth areas, and open new accounts. They will also use Lamar computer tools to locate prospects, follow up on leads, prepare proposals, written presentations, and research. Furthermore, the Account Executive will develop their presentation skills by utilizing computer tools and presenting to clients regularly. They will also develop new product knowledge and selling skills, actively participate in sales meetings, regional meetings, seminars, and trade shows, and perform administrative duties such as maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly sales plans, following up on client production orders, and problem-solving any issues that may arise.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to make oral presentations, and articulate policies and procedures clearly. They will also be comfortable making cold calls and willing to immerse themselves in the outdoor advertising industry. Key qualifications include a current and valid driver's license, college degree preferred, previous outdoor advertising sales experience preferred, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM experience preferred. The ability to perform effectively under fluctuating workloads, meet a sales quota, and utilize general sales techniques is essential. Intrinsic self-motivation to overcome challenges and meet goals, as well as resilience in response to rejection, are also required.
