What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerk II - Admissions Clerk position at Lamar State College Orange?
- Act as receptionist for department: Includes greeting customers, responding to emails and directing incoming calls.
- Communicate with students via email, phone, and in person including but not limited to admissions, missing documents, holds, registration, drops and withdrawals, transcripts, test scores, and graduation.
- Process all admissions applications for data input, ensuring that all records required by law and the college are received and in order, assist students in meeting admissions requirements.
- Process bacterial meningitis records. Download student data from Med Proctor website. Communicate with students regarding requirement and update student records.
- Scan and index admissions documents into imaging system and maintain all student admissions records in student's permanent records.
- Process various admissions duties, including but not limited to entering and releasing student holds and attributes, FERPA confidentiality, official name, address, email, and phone number changes.
- Assist with processing transcript requests in the absence of the Transcript Evaluator.
- Work closely with the Dual Credit Department and Continuing Education and Workforce Department to answer questions regarding admissions and records.
- Cross train for other functions in the Admissions and Records Office.
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of general clerical experience in a public contact position required. Experience in college or university Admissions and Records Office preferred.
- Ability to operate personal computers in addition to copier, and telephone. Must demonstrate good organizational skills. Must demonstrate superior interpersonal skills to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to work in occasionally stressful situations. Ability to perform work rapidly and accurately. Knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Lamar State College Orange's Annual Security Report
