Job Summary :
Level I CDL Instructor will work part time under the direction of an instructor. The instructor will provide instruction about driving a Class A and B vehicle safely. They will also teach Safety Check Off on a variety of vehicles, proper equipment maintenance, how to shift, back and drive, and Department of Transportation requirements.
The instructor will regularly perform student evaluations and complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Hold a current CDL Class A or Class B license.
Good communication skills.
Appreciation of the trucking industry.
Passion to help others succeed.
Ability to deal with parents, students, faculty and staff in professional manner.Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments.Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.Ability to promote the campus image.Ability to follow established college policies and procedures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and see. The employee is occasionally required to sit, lift, push, bend, climb, pull and carry objects up to 40 pounds.
Classes are taught in classroom and lesson taught behind the wheel of a vehicle. Safety is of utmost importance while driving all LSCPA vehicles. There are hazards presented when teaching CDL courses.

Some teaching experience preferred.
