Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing program oversight and strategic direction for environmental management at a large multi-line manufacturing facility. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and works closely with plant leadership to drive environmental compliance and lead sustainability initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of all environmental regulations and their impact on the food industry, as well as experience with developing engineering scope for new equipment to fulfill compliance needs. Leadership skills are essential to work as a peer and advisor to other departments.
- Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage facility's environmental program ensuring requirements are timely met and tracking is up to date.
- Lead environmental incident management efforts to ensure timely reporting, accurate root cause analysis (TapRoot), and effective CAPAs are developed, tracked to completion and shared to other sites if applicable.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and training to plant staff to build capabilities and ensure effective execution of EHS initiatives and standards.
